At Main Street Veterinary Clinic we know as pet owners that sometimes your pet's health cannot wait. That is why we have an in-house laboratory to give you answers while you wait.
Parasite Prevention and Control
4DX testing is done in the spring to detect if your pet has picked up heart-worm, or any tick-borne diseases including Lyme disease during the previous season.
Deciding which product is best for your pet and easiest for you can be challenging. That is why our doctors, technicians and staff are all knowledgable on which products have the best coverage and are best suited for the parasites in our area.
The best time to treat your pet with parasitic prevention (ie. flea, tick and heart-worm, is any time the weather stays above 5'C. With the fluctuating climate, we are now recommending preventative to be given year-round.
Pain Management
We use multilayered pain management with emphasis on pain prevention for all cases. We do our best to ensure your pet friend is as comfortable as possible during his or her stay with us.
Post surgery - Like humans, pets also experience post-surgery pain. In all cases, Dr. Jones and his staff use multi-layered pain management methods that concentrates on pain prevention. You can rest assured that we make your pet as comfortable as possible during his or her stay with us.
Chronic Pain - Dr. Jones uses a combination of food supplements, physiotherapy where appropriate, and judicious use of the most up to date medication to relieve chronic pain and allow your pet to enjoy life to the fullest.
Grooming- Pet Styling by Heather
Heather brings 17 years of pet styling experience and 20 years in the pet industry. She has worked with Dr. Jones, Karen and Stacey at a previous clinic and everyone is very excited to be working together again.

Counselling
Behavioural - at Main Street Veterinary Clinic, we recognize that some of your pets behaviours can be difficult to deal with at home. We always begin by ruling out any health issues with your pet. Once ruled out, we can directly address any specific behavioural issues and offer suggestions. We are also more than happy to recommend local trainers to help you and your pet.
Nutritional - we believe that a healthy diet is key to a healthy pet! At Main Street Veterinary Clinic, we know how confusing it can be to make the right choice of food that is best for your pet and suits your lifestyle. There are also many pets who require specialized diets to maintain or improve their health. Our team is qualified to help you to make the right choices.
End-of-Life Care
The staff at Main Street Veterinary Clinic know just how difficult it is to say goodbye to our pets. We try our best to make it as easy as possible for you, your family, and your pet. We have a grieving room that helps you all feel more at home at such a sensitive time.
